First Hawaiian Bank presents its corporate donation to Kauai United Way. “First Hawaiian Bank – a true kama`aina company – has proven itself to be an upstanding corporate citizen for many years with its annual corporate contributions to Kauai United Way over many years,” said executive director Scott Giarman. “This year’s contribution puts them solidly in second place behind only the outstanding result of Kauai Island Utility Cooperative,” or KIUC. KIUC ran the largest KUW employee group campaign ever in 2012 and the corporate match of this huge sum proved to be even bigger than First Hawaiian’s excellent effort.
The 2012 KUW employee campaign at First Hawaiian Bank continues to improve, slowly but surely, year after year. Over the course of the last three years, the employees of First Hawaiian have shown a 6% average annual increase in KUW contributions.
“We are truly grateful that the management and associates of First Hawaiian Bank recognize the wisdom of maintaining robust social services on Kauai to benefit us all,” said KUW Campaign Co-Chair Ron Wiley.
The 2012 Kauai United Way Annual is ongoing at about 88% of its goal, set ambitiously 5% higher than last year’s total in reflection of the increased need on our island. For more information or to donate, call 245-2043 or visit kauaiunitedway.org. Let’s all live united … the Kauai United Way.
