A Message from 2009 Campaign Co-Chairs - Doug Sears & Ron Wiley »»
Giving ? caring about our ohana ? is a big part of what makes Kauai such a uniquely special place. It defines, in large part, the character of our island and is integral to the aloha spirit. This year, the need is greater than ever. Where can we find the resources to help our out-of-work neighbors bridge the gap until the economy is fully recovered? It seems to us not to be a matter so much of greater individual giving but in recruiting more giving individuals.
Doug Sears, General Manager of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa along with KONG Radio Personality, Ron Wiley.
Sure ? let?s all dig a little deeper for that extra dollar per paycheck. But let?s also encourage our friends and neighbors who are fortunate enough to have work to pitch in, too. Tell them how easy it can be to help our whole community and that payroll deduction of a few bucks they?d never miss - $10, $5, $1 ? even 50 cents! ? adds up when we all do our part. Tell them people are hurting on our island, but when they receive the help they deserve, we?re all better off.
Please give what you can and help us reach more who should be helping. Do it for yourself, your family, your friends and neighbors. Do it for our island. Let?s demonstrate our support for Kauai, now when it is needed most.

A Participating Agency
"I've enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities, meeting other Scouts, and helping the community in our 'Do A Good Turn' projects. The most rewarding experience for me was achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. I can truly say that Scouting has helped me become a better person."
